DIRECTOR’S NOTE

What a way to start 2025! In a world right now with so much negativity, anger and stress, it is my hope and prayer that this show gives you a lot of gut healing laughter, some powerful food for thought and a lot of hope and inspiration!

I have previously directed Godspell twice, but this time, I really wanted to find a setting where it represented both the beauty and chaos that we experience in life. It was important to me to show a wide variety of people in this show as it is my belief that EVERYONE is created in the image of God, valuable and worthy of deep love. The diverse characters created in the show first represent various philosophers with a WIDE school of thought and are focused on themselves and speaking their own thoughts so loudly that they are not listening to each other.  Once they lose the philosopher persona, the characters remain indifferent, aloof, or even in opposition of each other and it’s not until their shared experience with the divine that they begin to see each other in His eyes and realize each person’s intrinsic value.

As someone who believes we are called to show love to ALL PEOPLE, I will own that I am really struggling in our current climate with all that I see and hear and I have desperately needed the reminders that these stories provide and the hope that is so freely offered. Through the process of building this show with this INCREDIBLY talented cast and crew, I am grasping at that ray of hope that we CAN build a beautiful city and hope you will join me in that journey.
